Six film series addresses current political issues in the context of conservative principles
Marietta, Georgia - October 12, 2009 - The Georgia Tea PartyTM will host a six-part political film series beginning on Sunday October 18 at 3:00 pm. The series, dubbed “Reels for Radicals”, a satirical nose-tweek on Saul Alinsky’s left-wing primer, “Rules for Radicals”, will offer refreshingly truthful perspectives on several current topics such as climate change, the national debt, the energy “crisis”, education reform and the role of religion in America. The series will run through December, with the showing of one feature length film approximately every two weeks at the AMC Barrett Commons 24 in Kennesaw. The first film in the series will be the October 18th world premier of the eye-opening documentary entitled Not Evil, Just Wrong. Produced by internationally known journalists and filmmakers, Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, Not Evil, Just Wrong tackles the so called global warming issue and challenges Al Gore’s film, An Inconvenient Truth, with historical fact and scientific testimony in a fast-paced cinematic style. Not Evil, Just Wrong presents the truth about global warming in a manner that puts the lie to those who would destroy our free-market economy through proposed Cap and Trade legislation. It is a must-see for all concerned citizens.
Georgia Tea Party Chairman, J.D. Van Brink said that the purpose of the film series, while not radical at all, is to bring some balance back into the debates on issues such as global warming, energy, etc. “Our goal is to present a fresh approach to the issues in a way that entertains, as well as, stimulates intelligent conversation among people across the political spectrum. Reels for Radicals is not just for conservatives. We believe everyone can benefit, if nothing more than to see the issues from a different point of view. The Georgia Tea Party is proud to be able to host these excellent films that by any measure are superbly produced. The production value alone of this series of films would be worth the price of admission,” Mr. Van Brink said.
Individual tickets can be obtained for a donation to the Georgia Tea PartyTM of $7.00 advance, or $8.00 on the day of showing. Pay in advance using this link to the Georgia Tea PartyTM website.
